At Renaissance girl, I'm all about being well-rounded, and knowing America's political situation is no exception. Don't get me wrong – I love House of Cards just as much as the next person, but I think it's important to vote. I'm proud of my Italian, German and Swedish heritage too, but I do live in America; so I want to do all I can to make it a good place to live by exercising my rights. Women weren't even allowed to vote in America until 1920!
If you've never heard of it, you should definitely take this quiz if you’re not super fluent in politics. This site asks you yes-or-no questions about important issues like federal spending, gun control and abortion to see where you stand on those issues. At the end of the quiz, you're told which politicians you stand with based on a percentage match, and what end of the political spectrum you fall on.
But enough about politics; let’s get to the fashion! I was feeling inspired by the classic Americana style (pearls, red, white and blue) and vintage Mad-Men style (pencil skirts, sweaters and pumps) and created this dream outfit that I'd wear to cast my vote.
